About Me

Hi, my name is Lisa, and welcome to my blog!  A few things about me: I’m happily married to the love of my life, we have two of the cutest kitties ever, I love exercising and trying new workout classes, and most of all, I love to cook healthy meals and treats!

My focus on healthy living started a few years ago after gaining, and then finally losing, 30 pounds that I packed on living the college lifestyle – you know, drinking and eating whatever was convenient and then being pretty much sedentary.

Since then, I exercise regularly and eat a lot healthier. That’s how I lost the weight and have kept it off.  No secret fad diet, no starving myself.  I  just became aware of what a healthy lifestyle really entails.

I used to use this handwritten journal to keep track of how much I weigh, exercise, sleep and most importantly, eat. I have now been using an online tool called MyFitnessPal. I love this site because I have friends on there to interact with and we help keep each other motivated. Altogether, I’ve been logging for a few years now. I lost the last 5 pounds in the first 6 months just by journaling because this enabled me to be more aware of what I am putting into my body day in and day out.

I started this blog to have a place to communicate how important it is to strive for a better tomorrow for everyone! Not only in their bodies, but in their environment as well. I wish for people to be more aware of what society has become in this fast-paced culture, like I became shockingly aware.

Here in this blog, you can find a delicious assortment of eats, treats, and sweets. I have a pretty busy schedule, so I try to create easy but healthy recipes that save time in the kitchen, so I can spend more time with my sweetie and kitties. ;)

You can be busy and still maintain a healthy you! Yes, it is possible! Schedule your exercises, plan your meals! That’s it!  Oh, and eating out at restaurants should only be on special occasions, and always check the calories first. Believe me, you’ll be surprised at how much a “healthy” salad really adds up!
