Kale Chips
Kale chips! You probably can’t find healthier chips than these! Kale is a leafy green super food that you can incorporate in lots of every day meals like you would spinach. For example, here’s my Green Smoothie recipe where I used equal parts spinach and kale to make an all-star breakfast on the go!
Kale is a member of the cabbage family and primarily grown in the southeastern United States. Lucky for me, I live in Florida! Why am I lucky to have kale readily available to me 365 days a year? Because a one cup serving has just 33 calories, 2 grams of protein, 7x your intake of vitamin K, 206% of your daily vitamin A, and 134% of your daily recommended intake of vitamin C! That’s a whole lot of nutrition in one cup of greens!! (Source: blog.foodnetwork.com)
This recipe is very simple and has few ingredients. You can mindlessly snack on these and still be happy knowing you just put some great stuff in your body! I got this recipe from JoyBauer.com here.
Ingredients:
1 Large Bunch (or bag) of Kale; washed, dried and trimmed into large chip size pieces
1 TB Olive Oil
Sea Salt

Directions:
~ Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
~ In a large bowl mix the kale and olive oil.
~ Lay out the kale on two large baking sheets and lightly season with sea salt.
~ Bake the kale for about 8-10 minutes each, watching carefully not to burn. It will start to burn and turn brown quick, so the chips need to be checked on often.
~ Remove from oven and devour!
Enjoy!!
